COMING UP IN 2014: A Preivew
As the year 2013 ends with great films as well as greater response and collections, the Indian film industry gears up for some more great packages for the upcoming year 2014 and here are the following packages which are worth being looked upon during the year:
THE “KHAN” CLASH: Three Khans, namely Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan will be dominating this year’s extremes with their respective films “Happy New Year” (October), “Jai Ho” (January) and “P K.” (June) at the Box Office where the interesting thing to look forward will be: Which film would be a better entertainer and which one would be a record setter worldwide.
PONGAL CLASH -“JILLA” AND “VEERAM”: Two mass entertaining actors of the Tamil film industry: Joseph Vijay and Ajith Kumar would be clashing at the Box Office on the South Indian festival of Pongal with their respective films “Jilla” and Veeram with the former co-starring the veteran actor Mohanlal. It will be worth a watch that who will be coming out with highest collection at the Box office.
VISHWAROOPAM 2: Slated for release on February 2014, the film is the sequel to the 2013 hit “Vishwaroopam” directed, written, co produced and performed by the veteran Indian actor Kamal Haasan. The bilingual film, would be also starring Waheda Rahman and Anant Mahadevan and according to the director, the film would be more slick and gripping than its prequel.
BOMBAY VELVET: Based on a novel by Gyan Prakash, the film directed by Anurag Kashyap, showcases the growth of the city of Mumbai (erstwhile Bombay) and would be featuring Ranbeer Kapoor, Karan Johar, Anushka Sharma and Kay Kay Menon and is slated for release during the end of 2014.
AI: Director Shankar and the famous Tamil actor “Chiyaan” Vikram joined hands with this film after their respective works 2 years back “Nanban” and “Thaandavam”, slated for April release, which also stars Amy Jackson and Suresh Gopi and features the cinematography of the veteran P.C. Sriram and the music score by the Academy Award winning composer A.R. Rahman
UNTITLED N. LINGUSWAMY PROJECT: Currently titled as “Rowdy”, the film would be featuring one of the brilliant actors of contemporary South Cinema: Suriya Sivakumar where the cinematography is being done by Santosh Sivan, ASC, ISC where he is using the Red Dragon Digital Camera for the shooting, making the first film in the world for having being used the camera.
K. DHANUSH RAJA: After wowing the Hindi audience with “Raanjhanaa” and continuing his success feat in Tamil industry with “Maryan”, the actor comes up with 3 releases in 2014, 2 in Tamil : “Velayilla Pattahari” and “Anegan” and one in Hindi directed by R. Balki (of “Cheeni Kum” and “Paa” fame) where he is sharing screen space with the legendary Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan.
SATTENDRU MAARUTHU VAANILAI: After the 2010 Romantic cult film “Vinnaithandi Varuvaya”, director Gautham Vasudev Menon, music composer A. R. Rahman and actor Silambarasan team up again for this film. Initially titled as “Dhruva Nattachhattiram”, the film will be releasing during mid 2014.
DULQUER SALMAAN AND NAZRIYA NAZIM: The on-screen couple are coming up with their two releases this year: “Salala Mobiles”, slated for January release and “Vaai Moodi Pesavum”, slated for mid 2014 release which will be a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam and will also mark the return of actress Madhoo on screen after a hiatus.
SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS: Sequel to the 2006 sleeper hit “Pyaar Ke Side Effects”, the film would be featuring Farhan Akhtar, Vidya Balan and Purab Kohli and releasing on February 2014.
